Welcome to

Solas Theological Seminary

Our
Mission

Solas Theological Seminary is committed to providing learned and fruitful students of the Bible, prioritising pastors and church workers, as servants of Christ’s church through the integration of academic excellence and pastoral mentorship.
Solas was envisioned to provide urban centres in India with well-formed pastors and church workers through academically rigorous education at Solas combined with spiritual formation at the local church. Our collaboration with Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary represents a significant milestone for the Indian church, ensuring academic excellence from a Reformed confessional standpoint. Courses delivered by local faculty offer our students valuable contextual education.
Additionally, regular reports from the student’s pastor help ensure spiritual oversight throughout the seminary years.
With the Holy Spirit’s blessing, we pray that our graduates will be well-equipped and church-focused for humble service.

Our
Values

Doxology

“Man’s chief end is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.” This statement encapsulates our ultimate goal: to enable individuals to delight in God more deeply and thereby glorify Him.

Taught by Pastor-Theologians

Most of our teaching faculty serve as elders of a local church. Their teaching not only informs minds but aim at the heart for humble service in the church.

Church-Embedded Students

To best serve the church upon graduation, Solas requires its students to be active members of a local church during their seminary education. In line with this conviction, Solas mandates a report from each student’s pastor every semester, detailing their spiritual formation and contributions to the church.

Why choose Solas?

Key Features of our
Master of Arts Programme

Original Languages

We believe that those called to handle God’s Word should be proficient in navigating the Scriptures in their original languages. Therefore, Solas students will receive instruction in Greek, Hebrew, and other exegetical tools to deepen their understanding of the Bible’s riches.

Biblico-Systematic Theology

Emerging from biblical exegesis are two essential theological disciplines: Biblical Theology, which traces specific truths along the storyline of Scripture, and Systematic Theology, which synthesises the Bible’s teachings into a logical system. Solas emphasises the importance of both disciplines in the contemporary church.

Confessional Heritage

Solas serves all branches of Protestant Christianity that uphold the ecumenical creeds: the Apostles’ Creed, the Athanasian Creed, and the Nicene Creed. Solas regards the Presbyterian and Reformed confessions as accurate expansions of these creeds and a summary of the Bible’s teachings. Our faculty teach from the perspective of the Westminster Standards or the Three Forms of Unity.

Doxology

“Man’s chief end is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.” This statement encapsulates our ultimate goal: to enable individuals to delight in God more deeply and thereby glorify Him.

Scripture

The Bible, in its sixty-six books, serves as the final authority on our beliefs and conduct. Consequently, a Solas education strives to cultivate proficient students of the Bible.

Christotelic Curriculum

The Bible has a Christotelic structure in that all Scripture points to Christ, who truly reveals God to humanity, redeems humanity from sin and death, and will renew the world upon His return. Solas faculty show how all Scripture lead us to Christ.

Personal Piety

The gospel is the good news that God has outloved a hellbent people. With the Holy Spirit’s blessing, a Solas education immerses students in this gospel, fostering a lifestyle of repentance.

Academic Rigor

The intellect is best utilised when it seeks to comprehend the faith held by Christians and the God we worship. Solas students are guaranteed a rigorous and scholarly education.

Contextual Sensitivity

By situating students within their local contexts and providing mentorship from Solas residential faculty, students are equipped with the tools necessary to address the needs of their environment.

Church Focus

Solas is dedicated to advancing the mission Christ has entrusted to His church: to cultivate healthy disciples and establish healthy churches.
