Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary (PRTS) is an educational institution whose mission is to prepare students to serve Christ and His church through biblical, experiential, and practical ministry. The seminary purposes that such training be God-glorifying and in accord with the Scriptures and historic Reformed creeds for the promotion and defense of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
BTS was founded in 1972 when two pastors, Dr. Frank Barker, Pastor Emeritus of Briarwood Presbyterian Church, and Rev. Bill Hay, Pastor Emeritus of Covenant Presbyterian Church, saw the need for men and women to be trained for Christian service to enrich their personal lives, to increase their knowledge of the things of the Lord and to be better equipped to teach, preach, and witness for the Lord Jesus Christ.
Decades later, BTS has stayed on mission to provide training with biblical fidelity and commitment to historic Reformed theology, making them an apt partner for Solas Theological Seminary. Students applying for the Advanced Certificate in Church Leadership can access the Logos Student Library, courtesy of Birmingham Theological Seminary and Logos Bible Software.
All programmes with BTS are accredited by the Association of Reformed Theological Seminaries (ARTS).
